10 Recipes That Prove Breakfast Is The Most Important Meal Of The Day

Not gonna lie, sometimes I go to bed excited, thinking about what I’m going to have for breakfast the next morning. Breakfast is hands down my favorite meal of the day, if not my favorite part of the day. There are so many delicious options for breakfast, and in my opinion it is the easiest meal to eat healthy. If you wanna go to bed dreaming about what you’re going to eat in the morning, here are 10 recipes that prove breakfast is the most important and BEST meal of the day.

Oatmeal

-rolled oats

-fruit

-nuts

-maple syrup

-chia seeds

-almond milk

Let’s face it, oatmeal is great for you but can sometimes seem dry, sticky and generally unappetizing. Unless you make my fun oatmeal, of course! Ever since I learned how to dress up my oatmeal, it has become one of my go-to breakfast dishes. I love to throw a splash of almond milk and a drizzle of maple syrup on my oatmeal after adding water for some flavor. Then, I’ll usually add raspberries and walnuts, and top it off with some chia seeds for an added Omega-3 and protein. This recipe is packed with health benefits, and you can easily swap the fruits and nuts to your liking. Yum!

Avocado Toast

-sourdough bread

-avocado

-himalayan salt

-lemon pepper

I’m sure we’ve all heard about the avocado toast craze that has been going on for the past year or so. Well I’m here to tell you that this is actually as delicious as it sounds. Smear a half of an avocado on top of a piece of sourdough bread. While sourdough is my personal fave, feel free to switch the bread up with your favorite choice.  I prefer my avocado toast simple, with just a sprinkling of Himalayan salt and lemon pepper on top of the avo. However, I’ve seen people top theirs with a fried egg, feta cheese or some grape tomatoes. Get creative!

PB & J English Muffins

-whole wheat english muffins

-all natural peanut butter

-grape jelly

This is a breakfast twist on the classic school lunch we all know and love. Toast up some English muffins and top them with PB & J for a delicious and easy breakfast.

The Perfect Scrambled Eggs

-3 eggs

-ghee

-salt

-pepper

-cheese of your choice

After making scrambled eggs with ghee, I have never gone back to using butter or cooking oil. Start by cracking your eggs and whisking them in a bowl. While you are doing this, put the ghee in a pan and turn burner onto low-medium heat. Put eggs in the pan and here’s the trick-to get these scrambled eggs super fluffy and delicious, take a fork and constantly scrambled them. Don’t just wait until the eggs start to harden! Top with some cheese if you would like, or salt and pepper. Voila! I give you the perfect scrambled eggs!

Monkey Bread

-3 packages of refrigerated biscuit dough

-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

-½ cup butter

-1 cup brown sugar

-1 cup white sugar

-½ cup chopped walnuts

-½ cup raisins

Okay, this is definitely not something you should eat every morning for breakfast. But for special occasions, I highly recommend monkey bread. IT IS LIFE. My grandmother used to make this for me when I was a kid and it is probably one of the yummiest things I’ve ever tasted. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9-10 inch tube pan. Cut the biscuits into quarters. Mix the white sugar and cinnamon up in a bag. Shake up like 8 pieces of biscuit at a time in the cinnamon sugar. Place the biscuits in the pan. Do this until all the biscuits are covered, and place the walnuts and raisins throughout the pan if you are using them. Then, melt the butter with the brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute, then pour over the biscuits. Bake this in the oven for 35, then take it out and let cool for 10. Writing this is making my mouth water, it is so good.

Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie

-6 frozen strawberries

-1 banana

-1 cup almond milk

-½ cup rolled oats

-¼ cup almonds

This is a super healthy and yummy breakfast if you’re in the mood for a smoothie. I usually cook the oats first. Then, combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Yogurt & Granola Parfait

-plain yogurt

-granola

-blackberries

-raspberries

-blueberries

-strawberries

Another recipe that is so easy, healthy and yummy. Put plain yogurt at the bottom of your cup or bowl. Add granola and berries. Repeat. You could even add your own twist by putting in nuts or dark chocolate as well!

Egg McMuffin-Not From McDonald’s

-1 fried egg

-english muffin

-1 slice of American cheese

-Ham or bacon

I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of Mickey D’s. However, when my grandfather made this homemade Egg McMuffin for me, I could see why they became famous. Fry up an egg and melt some cheese on it, then put it on a toasted English muffin with a piece of ham or bacon if you would like. Delish.

Peanut Butter Overnight Oats

-1/2 cup almond milk

-3/4 tbsp chia seeds

-2 tbsp almond or peanut butter

-1 tbsp maple syrup

-1/2 cup rolled oats

-fruit of choice

This is a super easy take on the traditional oatmeal breakfast if you want something you can just grab and go in the morning. In a mason jar, add the almond milk, peanut butter, chia seeds and maple syrup. Stir with a spoon to combine. Add oats and then stir to combine these as well. Cover with a lid or plastic wrap and leave these in the fridge over night. Grab it in the morning, top with fruit or nuts if you’d like and go to class!

Cranberry Orange Mimosa

-chilled Prosecco

-chilled orange juice

-chilled cranberry juice

-4 tbsp coconut sugar

-fresh cranberries

-2 vanilla beans

Okay, so maybe this doesn’t qualify as a meal. But who doesn’t love a good mimosa with brunch? If you’re in the mood to celebrate with breakfast, this recipe is for you. Start by scraping the vanilla beans and pulse the seeds with coconut sugar until combined. Add a few cranberries to the bottom of the glass, and add as much Prosecco and juice as you’d like. Easy and TOO good.

All of these look so good. Can it be breakfast time already?
